Welcome to the Home Page of Winchester Rotaract. Please look around!
Rotaract is celebrating its Ruby Anniversary. Visit our News page for the full story.
What is Rotaract?Rotaract is an international organisation for 18-30 year olds, made up from thousands of clubs spread throughout the world. It is not political and not religious.
Clubs organise social events, sports challenges against other local Rotaract Clubs, and try generally to have fun whilst (once in a while) raising some money for charity.
Who are we?There are over 15 members in the Club at the moment.
We are spread fairly evenly across the age range 18 to 30 and between the genders.
Members come from a diverse range of backgrounds, and live in Winchester or the surrounding area - members hail from Winchester, Alresford, Chandlers Ford, Four Marks, Badger Farm, amongst others.
Rotaract is a good way to meet people from different walks of life, whose experiences are varied and occasionally even interesting!
Rotaract is non-political and non-religious, and does not encourage secret handshakes or rolled up trouser legs. But don't let us stop you if rolled-up trouser legs is your thang...
What do we do?The most important side of the club to most members is the social side - although we do occasionally get off our bar stools and organise or take part in events for charity.
We meet up (to organise everything else) on the first Tuesday of each month at the Winchester Royal Hotel, Winchester.
Regular social activities include visiting local pubs, the cinema, dining out, watching videos and 10 pin bowling. Each year we also help support the Winchester Triathlon, the Winchester to Salisbury Marathon and the Round Table Fireworks display at the River Park Leisure Centre.
Winchester Rotaract Club was established in 1973. Rotaract has close links with the Rotary Club. We have a good relationship with the Rotary Club of Winchester. We help to support each other's charitable events, and Rotary members regularly attend our meetings to promote communication between the two clubs.
Why join Rotaract?Rotaract is an excellent way to meet new people. It is also a way to join people for activities you might not otherwise take part in - if you want to do something, the chances are that a few other people will be interested as well. Just come along and ask!
Of course, nobody goes to everything - its up to you.
